Hello everyone! My my name is Taylor, I live in southwest Iowa. I am attending college at Creighton University, in Omaha, Nebraska. I am majoring in elementary education. Aside from college I also work at Creighton's gym, and at a restaurant, and I mow a few lawns in summer with my dad. My biggest hobby is fishing, and I have always had a fascination with Rapalas ever since I was young. I have spent a lot of time fishing in Minnesota during the summers with my grandfather, therefore my favorite species to target are walleyes and northerns (northerns are very good smoked by the way). However, down where I live, walleyes and northerns aren't very abundant. So, I target mostly crappies and bluegills down home. I also enjoy ice fishing in the winter as well as hunting. When the weather is warm I like to go camping and spend time in my vegetable garden. I am also a die hard Minnesota Vikings fan and I love to watch college football as well. Other that, if I'm not fishing, I'm usually thinking about fishing!!!

Hey, Taylor, welcome aboard! We have quite a bit in common...I'm from Iowa, too, except the southeast side of the state. I also have a degree in Elementary Education, although the job I ended up doing (software testing) doesn't have much to do with my major. I also love to fish! The Vikings have always been my favorite pro football team. I also spend about a week a year fishing in Minnesota, just north of Brainerd...where do you go?

Hey Derek, good to hear from a fellow Vikings fan! When we go to Minnesota, we stay in the Perham area in Ottertail county. Which is about a little over an hour straight west of Brainerd.

Hi all, My name is Trevor and I am living in The Kawartha Lakes region of Ontario Canada. I am 61 years of age, married 40 years, 3 grown children with plenty of Grandkids. I have been fishing all of my life and more so now that I have retired. I have more rods and reels and tackle boxes than perhaps one really needs, but, they are there whenever the kids and grandkids come up to visit. As far as Rapalas go, I have one tackle box just for these lures as I believe ......well it doesn,t matter what I believe, I just have lots. Three weeks ago, in a little waterway known as Emily Creek, I was in my canoe fishing and caught a 4 + pound walleye on a gold 3 inch rapala. What a treat that was! And...what a site this is!! I am glad I found it, as there is so much info here and decent folk. Not only do I fish but I play guitar, enjoy camping, old cars, and collecting. (my wife calls it hoarding) Thanks for letting me join and talk at you in the future!
Your friend, Trevor Calhoun.

Hi all from the UK. I can't believe I have joined yet another fishing forum, but I have genuine reason. I started with a Pike fishing forum (www.the-pikers-pit.co.uk) which led to a lure fishing forum (www.lureanglers.co.uk) but what led me here was an ebay item I could not resist buying, a Rapala display board. Despite owning a hundred or two Raplalas (all second hand and many vintage) I never knew these existed. I don't know how to put up a link to the ebay uk item but the number was 222335480858. It has 4 lures missing out of roughly 178 & cost me £205 GBP plus £40 GBP packing & shipping. I would like any information on this or similar displays. Does anybody know which 4 lures are missing? What kind of a value would the complete board have as I think I have bought it for a very good price. Any info gratefully received guys, cheers.

Hi, casey here, from New Brunswick, Canada. Used to be a member a few years back but drifted away, haha. I am not a collector but use mostly rapalas in my fishing efforts. I fish muskie, chain pickerel, sm bass, striped bass and various smaller panfish. I also icefish starting in Jan when our season opens here. I am 70 yrs old and retired from the airforce after serving 31yrs at age 50. I have a 16' alum boat with a 20 hp merc. Now counting the days until 15 Apr 2017 when the summer season opens. Much prefer boat fishing to ice fishing. Anyway I will be looking around the site to see what is new.

Good Day! I'm Glenn from the Space Coast of Florida. Been fishing with rapala lures since the mid 70's. Rapala's are still as good a fish catcher today as they where back then. Fished most of my life in the Maryland, D.C. and Virginia area. Moved here to Florida about 10 years ago. While I'm not really a collector. I do still have some older lures. Thanks!

Hello everyone and anyone.
I just found this forum in 2023. I am 28 years old, collect many rapala lures, especially countdowns. I’m married, have a 7 week old son and work in a hospital as a pharmacy technician. I love fishing for walleye, pike and king salmon.
Cheers
