Well, it's official...I lost another fly fishing net. I'm starting to wonder what cosmic force is in play here. Every summer I lose my net. I can't exactly remember which day, but all I know is that I went to go grab it the other day (it's always hanging up beside my fly vest) and it wasn't there. Retracing steps as best as I could, I figure the other night when the storm was brewing, I packed everything up quickly and made a bee line for the van. No doubt, the net was still hanging on the big spruce at the edge of the water... Funny, I'm meticulous with every piece of gear I own...except for the damned net!! I always make sure my fly line is wiped down and that my waders hang to dry. I inventory the fly box when I get home to see what I need to tie before the next trip out, etc, etc...yet, the stupid net has disappeared... Can there really be fishing gremlins? Thoughts? Ideas? discuss....

Wisely spoken my fellow Canuck. I must say, if you go often enough, it's kind of give and take. One time after another such storm event here, I found a small tackle box. Nobody was at the lake, and this little box was just sitting on the rock underneath the 'fishing tree'. I waited...nothing. I was camped out with my brother in law down by the boat launch for another day after that, and nobody came looking. So we split the spoils..about 40 lures. Unfortunately alot of those were Mepps spinners and stuff like that which really don't work here, but never look a gift horse in the mouth, right? My kid found a brand new set of Rapala pliers last summer...with belt holster! So, ok, I lose a net every now and then...I guess it all evens out in the end...
