I headed over to a park this afternoon hoping for some nice bass action. I stayed there for about 2 1/2 hours in the afternoon before giving up. I only managed a 10" black crappie on a SSR7 SH. I hardly saw any bass around and tried playing with a J9 S, SSR8 SB, SSR8 SG, JSR5 P, JSR5 CW, and 3" helgramite all with no luck. Bass beds were empty.

Hey bluefishbuster, Don't feel bad your not alone.I went this afternoon as well and only managed to catch a very small pike.I think I missed every bass that went for my lure  On days like this one can only refer to the old saying: The worst day of fishing is still better than the best day at work   muskiehunter |

I had the same luck yesterday, 6 hrs on the lake and all I did was wash my raps!!! Stayed home today and mowed the grass. Maybe tomorrow will bring some good results!!

I like what you're saying. All I do with freshwater fishing is wash my Raps and hardly use any others. Sometimes I might throw a Berkley Power Worm, helgramite, or Heddon Tiny Torpedo when it comes to fish besides trout. But I always make sure I stick with my Raps and catch fish with them.

I usually start off with Rapalas from the surface and then work my way down as much as I can before hitting weeds.
If they aren't hitting anything after that, that's when the Power Worms & Gulps come out... |
