Tuesday afternoon I headed down to a beach where I usually fish for bluefish this time of the year. Got down there around 4:30pm and started off at the jettie I usually fish. Nothing was happening out there. Everybody out there was reporting no hits while chunking and one guy lost a blue on a chunk. I decided to play around with a Krocodile, Hot Pink SSP12, Glass Ghost XRW13, and Shad SSR9. I did have 2 stripers follow the Shallow Shad Rap and then caught a 20" striper with it. I had to start heading back to shore with the tide coming in so I rode my bike along the shore looking for action. I didn't see anything. But then when I finally came to a boat launch by a local harbor, that's when I saw them breaking on the surface with the bunker But the sad part was that the bluefish weren't in casting range. I tried throwing what I could to get out there including Krocodiles, Kastmasters, SSP12's, and XRW13's but couldn't get them all the way out there to the blues. I even tried throwing a 4" Storm Shad out there where I saw a few single explosions scattered but not a single bite was taken out of the tail by the toothy bluefish. After sitting down for about 5 minutes waiting to see if the blues would get closer, they never got close enough so I hit the road.
