here tonight...this is scary shit. So we get this rain that turns to snow, which in turn freezes onto all of the leaves that haven't fallen off yet. I'm driving down my street and trees are arched over the road like crazy, and there are branches everywhere. Of course several are hanging near my roof...and one is already leaning on the power line from my house to the pole.... If you don't see me online for a few days...well its because we've lost power...goddamn you nature!

Well as expected we lost power.
I feel bad for my wife since she normally works from home on Fridays - but no power means no heat, which sucks for the little ones being home.
I told her if it doesn't come back anytime soon to just take them to the mall or over to her friends'.
Not a good nights sleep last night - everytime I heard a tree crash to the ground I jumped out of bed to see if it hit my truck or the house...

Around 4:30 this morning the power company had trucks going down our street, and guys in cherry pickers sawing off as many branches hovering near power lines as they could.
Nothing like being 50 feet up in the air in the middle of the night, in 30 degree temps in the snow, cutting tree branches...
Got a lot of respect for those guys, they are always out in the worst of conditions.

Well, at least our power came back on around 11:30 this morning. I had no choice but to go into work today unshowered and unshaven

Sounds like a tiny version of the Ice Storm in 1998. Remember that ? Andy
