...would you allow your baits to be sold somewhere else on another site - that DIDN'T publish who painted the bait and where it came from? Would any of you guys ever agree to such a thing? I know if I painted baits, I certainly wouldn't. At least my store will be doing the exact opposite

Good question!! Hard to answer.... Really? I would think you'd want your 'name' out there as much as possible... Anway - I had heard of a site that is going to be stocking 'customs' (come to think if it, I think they got the idea from me) but I had also heard that they would not publish or divulge who painted it, where it came from, and most importantly - where to get more. Almost like they are trying to corner the market or something...sounds kinda fishy to me...

That's pretty much how I feel about it. Whereby I am doing the exact opposite...all I know is this - between the sponsors we have now (and a couple others I am still working on, hopefully Custom Bass Tackle will be next) I think it would be pretty safe to say RapalaNation has managed to work with some pretty damn good talent - and not letting the world know about them is a huge mistake. I'd challenge anyone to assemble more talent than what we have right here at the moment. Thanks again Steve, Barry, Keith, Rob, Joe...

proably moab, huh.. I was going to paint for them but the deal fell through. They didn't want anyone to know who painted them, but they were going to send more bait's than I could ever paint! In a case where it's a steady flow of order's I think I could do it. Most of the custom crank user's will know who painted them anyhow. lol. It's like one big happy family.. lol

It's like one big happy family.. lol Yeah, it would be them. I was speaking to Rob from XLC and he said the same thing. Did they ever say why they didn't want anyone to know? If it were me that would raise some red flags - like why don't they want people to know who painted them? Probably so they could take the credit and try to corner the market on a killer bait, and so people wouldn't go out and get it for themselves. Anyway I have more than enough Rapalas to send out just not the boatload of cash to pay for the pain jobs up front. And no doubt, people WILL KNOW where they came from in my store, you can count on that.
