Man, do I feel like a black cloud is over me.

In my Day Job thing, I work in a kitchen, always have,
I enjoy cooking.

Through the years, I had most everything happen, that can happen, those pesky little cuts, minor burns, etc, etc, etc.

Hell, I've even had 1 major,
my leg, 5 gallon stockpot of hot grease behind me.
That kid never told me it was there,
Very bad, off work for several months,
I even have 'very ugly' pic's of that one.

Well, Only I could have this happen,

I was cleaning out a sink, ran some water, scrub it

As I went to turn the handle which is located on the bottom of the sink, near the front of it,

My hand slipped off, and 'smacked' the bottom of the sink,

Little DID I KNOW,
this is the same place the 2 peice's of stainless are joined together,

Well, I got one hell'vu cut,
My gloves were a really nice shade of red,
I didn't notice at first, my cooking Partner
said,
hey Steve, your a really good bleeder....

So, I look, I'm cut,
On my pain scale..I really didn't even feel it...

MY General Manager comes back,
reallys doesn't like the sight of blood, she tells me...

Then she wants me to take the cloth I have on my hand off, so she can see 'how bad the cut is'

I'm trying to tell the guys, the prochedure on how to 'clean up a blood problem'
I get them all set

And it's back to her,
I think, ok, she wants to look, alrighty....

Cloth comes of the hand and the cut (which is on top of my hand)
Really, really starts pumpin' out the blood.....

I didn't want to go and now I have a couple of extra days off..

But the look on her face was GREAT!!!!!!!!

Tell me you don't like the sight of blood and then want to look at a cut and it's a 'pump'in blood like there's no tomorrow...

Go Figure.
I'm one of only very few, that wears a cutting glove when working and I end up getting..

I used to do the kitchen thing too. Started when I was 14. The best thing is when you are cutting beef liver, it needs to be partially frozen when on the slicing machine so it cuts nice. Well, it bleeds like a mother. When I get done, I take a towel, soak it in blood, wrap my hand and ask a waitress for a bandaid. Their look is priceless!!!!

Lmao bodeen, that would be priceless, i cut my finger at work the other day too..... wasprying out stud boards, when i didnt see the nail sticking out of the wood,.... not a nice sight, the cut was deep enough to see the muscle.... but what do you expect from being a constuction worker...

That's not the first time, or second time I've heard you cut yourself bad enough to miss work. Maybe you should work in a padded environment.

Yup I've done it before and will more than likely do it again.

next however, I going to make real sure I have
the safety sheet on how to use a sink correctly.

As for the padded environment,

I really had hoped that with all the
20 something 'Honeys' around work

I wouldn't be in need of anything padded.
But I guess at my age padded would be better than

"heading south" (get my hint)

I love a good cut story . I once tryed to catch a giant roll of saran wrap from falling off the shelf .. WITH WET HANDS . Talk about Dum ass . That little saw sliced right thru to the bone in two of my fingers . Cant remember how many stiches that was but it was alot .

ha, im not the only one, im just finally healing up from slicing my thumb to the knuckle bone with one of those damn saranwrap saws, right on the joint, they never heal.

Steve, what can i say, im not terribly suprised, im not sure if shane was right with the padding suggestion, but it would hurt. i was thinking more like the "boy in the bubble" look, you know, just to protect you from yourself. just kidding, glad to hear you anrt any worse for the ware and with a few days off to boot. i havent had a day off in... uhh... umm... what month is it now anyway. ps, pictures of the new house coming soon, hope to have the rapala wing done shortly before x-mas (stupid harvest season from here till about then) jeff
