The way I go through plastics I was kind of disappointed at the look, and the price of them to boot; I can't see spending the same price for two plastics when I can get 10 Senkos instead....

Was going to start a thread asking about the effectiveness of Trigger-X, but after searching the site I see that discussion about it has already begun! I too am curious about Trigger-X. I'm a big fan of Powerbait and Gulp products, they've produced well for me. I was interested when I saw the Trigger-X claims of pheromones targeting specific fish. I too thought they were overpriced when I first saw them at the retailers a while ago, so I wouldn't buy them. But, I have recently been able to find them on sale and in bargain bins at numerous stores, so I have been stocking up. Have not had the opportunity to try any yet as we are locked into the deep freeze here in the Midwest. Anyone have any on the water experience with them yet? Any clue as to why the price is being slashed on them everywhere they are sold? Are they being discontinued? Are they just not selling so retailers are beginning to dump them?

alot of it is repackaging i think, the ones in the green bags, the lures that are 'wrapped" were the gen 1 lures. new guy in town mentality, trying to break into the market. i think that guys thinking about paying$6 for 4 or 6 plastics, well, maybe the good old powerbait will be just fine... last year they repacked them, no longer had them all wrapped in foil, and they had larger quantities, 10-12 per bag and cheaper per bag to boot. old stock has been closed out and alot cheaper, usually $2.50 or so per bag. i had gotten some, but have not had time to try it, but i would think they should work as well or better then your everyday plastics. i have been switching over to them when i do buy plastics, other then senko's. which i have found some cheaper 'generics' of(claim to be made in the same place, just uses less sand in the recipe, makes them sink slightly slower and last more then one fish) i will find out this spring, looks like i will have more time to fish next year.

I guess that makes sense about the re-packaging, and trying to clear out the old stock. Its just amazing how cheap I've been able to find them lately, even as little as $1 a bag. So, at those prices, I'm more than willing to buy them even if I don't have a pressing need at the moment. I'll use them someday. Thanks for the info "Bacon". -By the way, what did you mean you'll have more time to fish next year? Everything okay?
