I've loaded PowerPro on a couple of my reels and have been very happy with it. However, my ultra-light reel (an Okuma Avenger AV 15a) states that it can hold 150m of 0.15mm line. The PowerPro that I spooled it with is 10Lb test with a stated diameter of 0.15mm. The other day I figured it would be a good idea to pull all the line off (on a long stretch of grass) to straighten it out and to see how much was actually on there -- 35m! What?! I don't like over filling my spools and there was a extra 3mm to the lip but that's recommended - so what gives? I re-spooled it with some of the remaining line on that I had and filled it up nearly to the lip - as much as I could without it spilling off on a cast. I then walked along the stretch of grass pulling the line off of the reel as I went -- 60m. Yes that's all - just 60m! So what happened to the other supposed 90m?
In the factory where I work we have some fancy measuring equipment, so I took a few lengths of line to measure it's diameter -- 0.15? No way! It was between 0.22mm and 0.26mm!!! No wonder I could only get a maximum of 60m on my Avenger.
So now I'm seriously considering buying some Sufix 832 @6lb with a claimed diameter of 0.14mm. Does anyone know that it really is 0.14?
