Hi John.
this is a CD-7 i think. i have seen several of this one, all coming from sweden, or at least these were all listed on tradera, just like this one; and i have placed a bid as soon as i saw it. i think this is a very similar or even the same color as the F18 orange perch.
best, wolfgang

normally, im one of the first to suspect a custom in situations like this, but something about this one has my interests piqued. it might have a chance at being factory. those stripes are very perch-esque. maybe this was an early overlay pattern, or a "misprint". the painters at rapala are blowing though thousands of lures a day. to imagine that once and a while a GFR somehow stumbles into the perch bin when they get notched up to have the stripes masked and painted. the same can be said for some of the other double colors maybe, at least in the begining anyway. but im simply guessing here. but now there seems to be a lot of double colors and overlays showing up. way to many for them to all be mistakes. i think we (the collectors) are being targeted with these so called rare mistake lures. some of them are very cool, dont get me wrong, but i think going ape over getting these variations is a bit over kill. in some instances, they are a real neat piece, and are one the verge of proto type status or could really be rare factory mistakes, like this striped GFR. but alot of the bleeding colors over foils and ect are becoming way to common for this to be a coincidence. bacon

I think this is a real color. Mark has one new in box in a CD-7 in his gallery. I think I have seen this somewhere else too. Maybe Jason's gallery?
