This is my first post to this forum, I just bought a large group of the 100th anniversary minnows. I thought I did good, but after looking at the auction site, they haven't really gone up much at all. Do you guys think there will be a market for them down the road, or do I just try to return them. The paint schemes look awesome to me, I just thought I was making an investment. Older Rapalas seem to be very hot these days. Any input would be appreciated. Thanks Brad

Thanks Brad Brad, First off, welcome aboard! On the 100th Anniv Minnows, I know they were mass-marketed all over the place when they came out, I know I personally bought quite a few at Dick's Sporting Goods. Actually I should have bought more to actually fish with, since I love the color patterns/finishes on them. More than likely this is the sort of thing you will need to hang onto for quite some time. Lure values generally wouldn't go up considerably after such a short period of time. Your best bet is to put them somewhere and then forget about them for awhile, to be honest. The Rapala 'collectible' market is still pretty new, as a matter of fact most lure collectors probably look at us with disdain, but so be it. They did make 3 seperate colors for the European market, now those sell well here for sure, but they are expensive with the exchange rate & all. I forget offhand the color codes/patterns those came in. Hope you choose to stick around!

Excellent question!
...and I can't find the answer, just a clue.
The ARR (Silver Grey) is one of Risto's colors. The EIR (Silver Olive) is one of Esko's colors. The PER (Gold Brown Orange Belly) is one of Ensio's colors.

I don't know... Is this abbreviation shotcut from Finnish laguage? Maybe not...
ARR Silver grey = Hopean harmaa EIR Silver green = Hopean vihreƤ PER Gold Brown Orange Belly = Kulta Ruskea Oranssi vatsa
Maybe its shortcuts for other familly names...
btw: Lauri = Laurece Risto = Christopher Ensio = first Esko = ? Kauko = far away Jarmo = Jeremiah
