Hi All, I have an old Rapala in it's original box, I have not been able to figure out how old it is. The box is English on one side and Finnish on the other. The inside has Lauri Rapala Ja Pojat, Vaaksy l prize 1950 l prize 1954 The bottom is written in Finnish. It is a 7 g. The lure itself is unfished and has black writing on the lip "Original Rapala" and belly "Finland".
Also is this a lure I should fish or does it have any collectors value? Thanks for any info you can give me, Mike

hi , the original floater, the 7g was introduced in 1964 and is 1964-65 as i think the diving vains were imbossed after this, in my findings this lure in top condition including good box will go for about $25.00, but depends on how many are in circulation when you sell, i paid between $10-30 for all my early ones with good boxes, hope this helps welcome to the site

Hi, Thanks for the information. I won't be using this one!
If I could only have one lure in my tackle box it would be a Rapala
