Hi, I purchased 12 original rapala minnows recently at a garage sale. They are maked "Finland" on the bottom, have a hand painted red stripe on the "mouth" and have a small red spinner on the end treble hook (There are 2 trebles. They are all about 3-4 inches long)). The lip on most is clear plastic with clear lettering saying "original rapala". I do have one that is like the above but the clear lip in the front has black lettering . Any idea on the age? Thanks so much!

hi , without pictures its a little hard to be sure, but the one's with clear marked diving vains would be about 1965---1980 and the other with black writing would be before this, as for spinner things i dont think they were there when they left the factory

You'd probably get more help if you posted pics of the lures.

yup, without pics, no id.
Tho, the members here that posted are right.
Has there ever been rapala fakes? I bet there has with any high dollar items.
That being said, i have a bunch of arbogast lures, OLD lures, as well as rapala.
Have a nice day, lets see some PICS, you got me pretty damn interested.
