Hi,
Wanted to draw upon the experience of the forums members.
Which lures / colours are working for you?
What is working for Salmon or Seatrout, at what time of day and state of river.
Also any tales of large fish falling to Rapalas
Cheers Chris Tight Lines

Hello, Maybe i am out (with my english) but for me the best lure is CD7 Blue for Brown Trouts when the waters become brown - however i have always think every lure is great between good hands. I like FT for big greytrouts in mountains of my area

well, i have not caught that many salmon or sea trout, and most was with flies. i have seen a salmon being caught in Stockholms Ström with a J7 GFR, and i sent a bunch of CD7 RCL to a guy in sweden some time ago; he said he is using for sea trout. and i know in FINLAND the CDJ in SFC is also used for sea trout in the baltic sea. the only sea trout i ever caught on a RAPALA was in the south of stockholm in a bay where the river Ava is entering the sea; it took a RMST-7 BSD. this is my little expertise on the topic, which indeed is a very wide and varying one, considering you have thes efish in lakes, rives, and the sea; all different conditions, then again, in many different countries with great variation of conditions like color of water, speed of current, etc.
interesting thread, lets see what we get out of here ...
best, w.

hi , i do a lot of salmon and seatrout fishing in the uk, the cd7 is my number one lure and i have had more fish on this than anything else untill now, now i dont use the cd7 and only collect, ive now replaced it with the team esko and found these lures even better, shame they only do them in 7cm, i use black or rainbow in clear water amd hot tiger in dark water

I started fishing last year in june and did not have many different rapalas, i use CDs and what i found best was BLUE/SIVER CD9 was the one, caught brown trout and sewin(sea trout) fom 1lb to 8.5lbs on it in clear and muddy high water. ATB

The largest i caught last year was a nice silver mint sea trout 8.5 lb out of the river Teifi, it was in hight coloured water, i went fishing about 1pm and a chap just up stream about 15yds was worm fishing and we had a quick chat - he had been there 3.5hours without a bite! First caster i did with the blue CD 9 right out to the other side of the river- 2 full turns on the shimano reel BANG i was in! good hard hit and took some line out instant, played it very little but had to crank the reeal very very fast as the fish darted towards me, by this time the other worming cap had come down to me and netted the fish in for me. He was amazed he was watching me cast and saw the whole ting! So Rapala CD9 blue was my best lure for 20011 roll on 2012 , i have more Rapal colours now!!
