Hi John.
well, i do not think this is MFR; it is coming close, but the lip is strange, the hooks, and the wire for the hooks too. it seems to me this is a screwed-in wire and not the usual through wire for rapala. and i guess i can say this because i have made some wobblers myself and used the same system to fix the hooks. so it seems to be home made. if it was an original MFR3 silver mackerel, it would be anywhere from $50 up, and if it was NIB, i think it would be $100 and up for sure.
best, wolfgang

i tend to agree with wolfgang, something just not quite right with it. measure another MFR, are they 3cm, or are they really 3.5cm like the one photoed. that would be an easy way of telling a phony for sure. but the nose is wierd for sure. if it was real it would be cool, but im just not convinced. i recently found an auction that was full of rapala lures, and it had a shad rap that was definatly a size 4, but not an srrs, just a SR. i was really going to go nuts on it, but had him send me better pictures after i lost the auction, and after getting differnt angles on it, i think it was a knock off also, no print on the lip and the line tie was "off". was glad after that i had lost the auction, and didnt go nuts and pay big money to get it only to be disappointed. but a true SR-4 would be of only prototype status, and i was really liking the idea of having one, but its also possible that even a prototype does not exist.
