Rapala Victims 2012

Well, I plan on trying to catch a fish to 200 different Rapala's this year, but this will certainly not be easy this time. I just counted, and I only have 174. I've given my nephews quite a few over the years, but many of those are doubles of what I have. Still, between them and what I accumulate over the year, I should get close.

I definitely got a head start over last year, due to this warm winter!! I don't think I had ever caught a bass in Jan. or Feb. before until this year!! I am also going to try to catch a fish on a Rapala in every month of 2012. I already got one in Jan. four in Feb. and two in March, so I am well on my way!!

Got a few more to add to my list!! One good thing about a challenge you create for your self is that you make up the rules!! As far as this challenge goes, foul hooked carp count!!!! This was the third time I have foul hooked one on a Rapala, but the first time I actually landed one. The lure was in his tail, so it wasn't as tough to bring in as it would have been if it had been in his side!! Was still a decent fight though!! Glad I didn't get him on my rod with 6lb test on it!! If I had, I imagine this story would have had a different ending!!!

Unfortunately, my neighbors dog knocked my camera out of my hand while I was in my front yard, and two tiny microscopic screws fell out. I am have having a hell of a time trying to find replacements. Until I do, (IF I DO) this whole exercise is on hold.

Well my camera is still not working, so this pic may be hard to see!! I took the original picture on my nephew's phone, but couldn't figure out how to post to the computer from his phone. I ended up just taking a picture of the picture with my girl's phone!!

Great Job. This winter has been one for the books. Caught my first February walleye this year on a F11 Clown. If all goes well I will have caught a walleye on a Floating Rapala of some kind every month this year.
