Hello walleyeking69 and welcome to RapalaNation! Sizes 7, 8 and 9 will always be at least worth what you pay for them, and 4's and 5's are best! I know that Bacon is looking for a few #4's to fish with - so send him a pm if you get any extra! jmcfish is a straight shooter as well - as many others on this site as well!!! If you go to that store to "Take 'em down" (buy all they got) try offering the owner a dollar or two off of the retail price - maybe they'll shoot you a deal? Cheers!

Yep cannot go wrong with the Risto Raps. Sizes 4,5, are the best but all are great. In fact I know 7,8 have small but loyal following on big water for walleyes.
Best of luck to you and welcome to the site!

It depends...are you going to use them for fishing, or are you trying to get a value of them so you can re-sell them on ebay?

I fish with rapalas a lot and i guess i'm a collector since i've got a ton of them. i have been reading this forum for a while and when i seen they had all of those risto raps(which i knew they didn't make any more)i was thinking about all of you serious collectors on this site. i have never fished with them before. what do they compare too? when i get a chance and some extra money i will go back there and get as many as I can. I probably don't need that many of them so i will sell or trade them to you guys.

I was just going to ask you what you fish for walleyeking69 - but then I took a look at your name and felt like a I am assuming Walleye but then I thought that king might stand for Salmon? Defiantely assuming that you are @ 42 years old because of the last two digits! Seriously: I still use Ristos when trolling for walleye, but have switched to DT's for bass fishing - and should start to try and troll with those as well. I know that Bacon uses the #4's - I'll let him chime in on that if he feels like it. Since you have never fished with them before and the fact that they are hard to get, I would use them for trading stock! As far as collecting is concerned - what do you collect?

there is a lot to considering buy them. price, size and colors to be specific. there are certain colors that are much more desirable, any of the shad variances(blue, green, fire, ect) are good, usually these will not have any color codes on them(more then likely anyway) or hang tag for that matter. these seem to be the most collectable versions you will find on store shelves here. other then that, you will most likely find that they are sizes 7,8, or 9 and come in some of the standard run risto colors (shad, hot mustard, parrot, silver, silver gold, plum shad, silver blue, and tennessee shad) those are them most common, and honestly value wise are best to be fished with. figure around $5-7 worth of trade value or sale price. once and a while these will get kinda streaky on the auction site that shall not be named, and certain color/size combinations listed above will get up to around $10-$12. the size 5 is really hit or miss in my book. sometimes there $10+, others there $3. but as of late, they really could just be lumped into the same catagory and the other larger sizes. BUT, as happyshad has noted, im kinda partial to the size 4. any size 4 you can get has much better value then any other size. color is a little less important on the size 4, with $20 a lure being a pretty common on auction. the shad pattern is my favorite, and i tend to kinda horde them, but i get any color i can. although i am starting to run a little low, so if you do find any, feel free to keep me in mind. will gladly trade for them. bacon Bacon

As far as collecting is concerned - what do you collect? well i guess i collect husky jerks that is what i use mostly for walleye where i'm at. but i do have quite a few originals and shad raps. They are all out of the boxes, except for the dozen or so that havent made it into the tackle box yet(did i say dozen i mean i dont know how many i really have out in the garage that i bought over the winter). Bacon, when i do buy those risto raps. I'm not looking to make huge profits or anything. I will post what i got when i get them.
