Most of my favorite lakes have seasonal closures to protect the pike and walleye as they spawn but they re-opened today so I went fishing at one of my fav's for the evening. It was pretty windy but I still managed to get a few of the heavier lures out into the waves. In all I caught 11 pike averaging 6 lbs with the largest being an alright 8 lbs. Most were in the 5-7 lbs range. The 8 lbs pike was unique in that, while it was the heaviest, it was not the longest. It was only about 70 inches long but very well fed! here are some pics Here's the smallest that I bothered to take a picture of This guy was one of the 6 lbs pike This was the 8 pounder And again on the scale

Went again the day after (Yesterday) to another lake with my Dad and we each caught 2 before We had to leave (definitely one of my shortest fishing trips) This one was actually the 100th fish I have ever caught with an x-rap and possibly the last one with this lure because it got a crack and fills with water and I have been unable to fix the leak so far. Not a very big one. And the bigger one of Dad's
