Hi All! Have been away for a while, don't get a chance to sit down at my ailing desktop pc much anymore, find myself using my IPhone to get most things done, its faster and less "buggy" anyway. Finally found the Mike Iaconelli DTs on the shelves (Bass Pro Shops), and was a little disappointed there was no special packaging, not even a "new" sticker as they have often done in the past for new color introductions. So, I didn't buy all 6 new color runs for display as I had intended when first I saw the ad in one of my fishing magazines, but I did buy a couple to break out and add to my tackle box for actual fishing use. Really like the "Smash" paint job!

Really like the "Smash" paint job! In a way thats a good thing. New packaging/art would end up costing the consumer even more money, and even though I like most of the new colors - they aren't anywhere near 'eclectic' or mind-blowing like the name suggests. Most of them seem to be slight variations of already existing Rapala colors - Disco Shad & Penguin look too close alike - and both look like Pearl Grey Shiner or Original Pearl Shad. Money is already tight enough as it is - On a series where there is probably already too many (and some unfortunately short-lived) colors, it just ends up getting confusing and somewhat tiresome. Sure, I'll try some of them on 04 & 06, but there is no way I'll need the whole lineup.

Still love this line of lures (the DT models), they are outstanding most places I get a chance to wet a line. And, still really liking the new "Iaconelli" color line. Just picked up the DT6 in the "Old School" color to add to my arsenal. Picked it up to replace a Chartreuse Shad DT Thug that I lost on an underwater snag. The Thug was $9.99 to replace, while the Iaconelli Old School (very similar appearance) was only $5.99. I especially like the subtle metal-flake base coat of paint on this line. I have not seen them yet at my WalMart like others have mentioned, but I will be on the look out, in hopes of grabbing the remaining colors for under 5 bucks apiece!

Anyone seen first-hand the Iaconelli Boxed Set offered for sale on the Rapala Website? I'm thinking it would be cool to purchase and squirrel away as a collectible. Are the boxes shown in the website picture really the boxes they come in? They look pretty generic and nondescript. Also, isn't the offered set of six different color patterns missing a couple from this new line-up?
