www.ebay.com/itm/VINTAGE-RAPALA-FISHING-LURES-COLLECTION-/140773423470?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item20c6bff96eI came across this on ebay and was first taken by the fact that I had never seen a lure board like this. Then I was struck by the $500 beginning bid price. Then I read the description and it appears the person auctioning the board is only selling the lures off the board!!!! It said in the description that the board is not included?!?! Why on earth would you do that? Yes the board is not in the best condition and there are some lures missing, but with a little TLC it could be back to an amazing display. Maybe its not too late and someone will rescue it, but it doesn't sound good.

maybe its because of the shipping rate ,large package from Chile will cost more than 45 bucks , seems to me the lures are glued so they won#t look nice when he gets em off the board , jm/2 cts

Shipping costs or not, it seems just short of a crime to bust up a Rapala board like that. I have paid more than $45 for shipping from Europe in the past and would do it again for a board like that. The $500 opening bid is way too hefty for me. I couldn't pay that kind of cash even if the board was mint.

First - $500.00 for that board, in mint condition, is well over true market value (unless you found someone that really wanted it bad). It is one of the earlier displays - but nothing too special.
As far as the lures that are on it - once you remove the glue - what do you have? And, I think it was Bacon that pointed out in a dif. thread, that some of the lures on these boards have had the backs "shaved" or cut off of them - then - worthless.
My opinion - In it's current state - it's worth maybe $75 or less.
