I hope folks can view this photo. Had a hard time with photo bucket. Anyway has anyone ever seen this black back gold sides with a black dot. I was hoping someone could tell me what it is.  |

Maybe an (SD) with silver sides that "yellowed" with age?
But - It could be a (G) ? The made a DD-90 in G and then the Fat Rap followed?
It would be interesting to hear Jason or Bacon's take on this!

The sides are 100% gold I have seen the silver yellow this is not the case. It also has A slight orange belly on the bottom. It also came with some heavy duty stainless steel split rings vs the normal copper

Hi In the description, mine is the same but not with gold sides and this is old, but not yellow, fortunately. I just changed my hooks because old were terrible. Perhaps there is a pattern in option 'G', I do not know. Make a nice picture with more light .   |

If they made a DD-90 in Gold (G) and a Fat Rap in Gold (G) - this lure has got to either be Gold (G) or a prototype (the orange belly makes me want to think that would be possible)
Looks like you are getting better at posting photos Nathan!

well,
i couldnt see or didnt notice the orange belly in the first pic.
i think we can rule out the G-option, cause all the older ones as in the DDs were done with foil, right?
is this a painted or a plated color?
it reminds me a little of the old FR-7 SB (1. edition without scales).
if a paint, proto may come quite close, if its plated, i say its a GSD with black back.

It's not plated it's painted. The paint does have a metallic look to it. I may have my wife take some better photos to post. Not really sure what to do with it. I will comepair it to the other fat raps to see if I can find something that jumps out.
