Hi, new to the site. Can anyone tell me where to get Rapala store signage? Looking for some cool Rapala Items for my fishing themed man cave.
Thanks

ebay is your best bet, they show up from time to time, but not often. i just snagged a 6 foot long rapala lure for my mancave on ebay. next best bet is craigslist.org, it can be a pain to navigate to find what you want, but sometimes yeilds good results for certain items. other then that, its time to surf tackle shops, i stop at every tackle shop i find in my travels. from time to time i find ones with signs, rugs, promo material, but getting them to sell it is not easy. first, have cash, and enough of it, second there better be an owner handy, or your SOL. and finally, have a back up... let me explain. i walked into a shop that had a promo lure hanger that i wanted, asked if i could buy it, the owner just kinda shrugged and said, "naw, i dont think so". that could have been the end of it, but i had looked it over ahead of time and planned out my attack. the hanger still had about 2 dozen lures on it, i picked about 10 of them off and found other hooks to hang them on, so there was only 12 or so lures still on it, and the better ones at that. so i then asked if he would take $20 for it if i bought every lure on it aswell, that made the deal and i walked out with some good lures and a real prize of a tough piece. before i offer on a not for sale item like that, i look ahead as a bundle to fall back on. if they say no, i can offer to by a pile of lures as well, sometime the idea of selling a months worth of lure all at once is enough to seal the deal, but if they still say no, just smile and thank them anyway, the next time you stop they will be more likely to remember you, and might even offer to sell you what you wanted at a later date once they had a chance to think about it a while. just some sage advise from an old tackle shop pro.
btw, getting signage out of Rapala is almost impossible, a sticker or decal here or there, maybe, but good stuff... you have to know someone who knows someone... and most of us do not know anyone that high up. good luck in your searches

well, thanks Jeff for this nice piece of advice.
i know a shop or 2 who have some display boards around, and i even got some out there at reasonable price; it turned out though i should have bought them all first time, cause when i went in there next to buy a couple more, the owner told me, no way to get any more at this price, cause he recently checked ebay and saw what these are going for ...
well, this was a little unfair, cause he was referring to some of these big displays with well over 100 rapala on them, and these sold for anything between 300 and 600 euro. the boards he had were more like about 20 rapala on them, and i think paying about 2.50 euro per rapala on it, this was a good deal for both sides. later on he tried to sell this stuff on ebay, but never ever found a buyer, so i guess its time to visit again and see what i can get ...
although i agree there is some nice non-lure stuff out there, i did not look too much into this, but i found a very nice NORMARK belt buckle some time ago, and a SANGER key ring (which is the company here in germany resposible for the Jan Eggers Special Edition of rapala). some quite nice stuff IMO.
best, wolfgang

I would recommend search tempest if you are going to look through craigslist. You can search multiple craigslist cities at a time instead of just one. It takes a lot of hassle out of searching

Bacon, thanks for the reply.Thats is some good advice. There is a small bait/gun store here. They have a older 24/30" rapala dealer lure hanging up.I ask him about every time I stop if he wants to sell it but he always says no.
There is a gander mountain here that is converting over to a gun world. All the tackle was 75% off. I bought over 125 Rapala lures. I tried to get the Rapala signs that they took down but the employee that I asked said they had to send it all back. I asked another employee just to see if I got the same answer. I did. I wanted them real bad. I called the store two days later to speak with a manager.I told him what I was interested in and he said sure $20.00. I went up later that day only to be disappointed. They now couldn't find it. They said it probably got thrown away. I was pissed. I did get a real cool 5' x4' photo of a northern pike jumping out of the water.
