I just returned from fishing in Alaska! WOW, not only was the fishing fun, but seeing all the different kinds of wildlife was fantastic. While in Juneau I took a float plane out to Taku Glacier lodge. It is situated right beside a glacier that was breathtaking. We ate grilled salmon and lemonade. The ice in the lemonade was from the glacier. After the salmon was finished cooking, a big black bear came out of the woods and decided the drippings from the grill was on his menu. He came within 40 feet of us but couldn't care less about us, he was only interested in the grill. In Sitka Alaska is where I finally got a line wet. We fished for King Salmon and were fortunate enough to find them and catch enough to send home. The salmon were between 30" & 40". We also caught ling cod, & rockfish. The humpback whales put on a show for us jumping and splashing. The sea lions tried to get our catch. The eagles were constantly watching. The otters lounged on top of the water as we went by. The weather cooperated for the entire time with daytime temps of 60's and night in the upper 40's. We had no rain which is extremely unusual. A fantastic trip that I would highly recommend!
