Rattlin' Fat Rap RFR-7 A larger Fat Rap at 7 cm (2 3/4") and 5/8 oz. They have two No. 3 hooks and a running depth of around 8-16 ft. They were introduced in 1992 (one year after the RFR-4 and RFR-5) but have not been available for many years. I think the last year they were produced was 2000?
Candidates: HT (Hot Tiger) - have seen this in "SPECIAL" and plain boxes OCW (Orange Crawdad - 1st Generation--light orange) PRT Special - saw one picture that looked like the DRFR-7 PRT Special paint job, but this may have been a custom paint job.
The Winner: Gotta go with the HT...although if the PRT Special existed...
Thoughts???

Yep, those are tough ones, too. I was fortunate to pick up a couple of those pictured. Did they make the PW in RFR? Jason has one on his collection site, but it's with his FRs. Either way, look for that one to show up in an upcoming thread.

Either way, look for that one to show up in an upcoming thread. I have a size 5 and 7 PW FR made in Finland pictured in my album. And also a 7 PW RFR with Finland lip. The RFR is not pictured yet. I don't have the original box for any of these though.

I found this forum in my search to replace a lost lure and i have been reading here for a while now. I am a rapala user and didn't collect them; until now that is. I am particulary interested in collecting the SSR14, but i also have some fat raps and i want to learn more about them. I saw you mentioned the RFR7 PRT special. Is there something special about this colour or is it just "parrot"? Kind regards, Jan N

Welcome to Rapalanation! Your English is excellent, so please don't worry about that. The RFR-7 PRT Special I referred to was pictured in another thread, but the picture is no longer available. It's very similar to the regular Parrot color, but doesn't have the scales on the top and has a black dot on the side. This PRT Special color was available in the DRFR-7, which is pictured below. The color code on the DRFR-7 Parrot Special box I have is SFCB. I hope that helps. Derek
