The birth of a legend! The Fat Rap was introduced in 1977 in two sizes, 5 cm and 7 cm.
Fat Rap FR-5 A mid-sized Fat Rap at 5 cm (2") and 5/16 oz. (slightly lighter than the RFR-5). They have two No. 4 hooks and a running depth of around 3-5 ft. Introduced in 1977, they have been almost continuously available in one outlet or another since then, and are still available.
Candidates: P (Perch) - gold belly ?PW (Pearl White) - do any of these exist in FR-5 prior to the 2009 limited edition release? ?FT (Fire Tiger) - 1st generation; original pattern with chartreuse lip. Does this one exist in FR-5? I have never seen one, although RFR-5 was available with chartreuse lip. B (Blue) - black oval label. I didn't really want to go down the road of considering different boxes, but this one is different enough, I thought I'd include it. There is also an FR-5 SFC with the oval label, but I'm not aware of any other FR-5 with the oval label (FR-7 is another story). Anyway, there seem to be a fair amount of FR-5 SFC oval label out there, but very few FR-5 B.
The Winner: Gonna go with the FR-5 B oval label.
Thoughts???

Based on the site where I saw that picture (flickr), I'm pretty sure it's either a custom paint job or an edited version of a picture of an FT. I've got a high resolution version of that image, and it's pretty clear it's not original paint.
