Hi to all Pls advise me on my gear Abu Garcia Hornet Stinger HSC638MH Length - 2.3M Lure -1/4-3/2oz Line 10-30lb ( using 30lb braided line)
Abu Garcia ProMAX 2 Gear 7.1:1 Max Drag 15lbs
Can I use lures that are low or high weight than rod spec How can I adjust the braking of the Reel thanks

Not sure of what the length is (we dont use the metric system here in the USA, lol) but if its a MH rod you're going to have issues casting smaller lures. Also a lot of it also depends on your line weight as well. Edit: with 30lb braid I'm guessing you're going with larger lures for larger fish anyways.

I agree with jmcfish10101973 and Fishooked. I have a couple of rods rated as "Medium" with the upper lure weight recommendation of 5/8 oz. But 3/8 oz. is about it with these rods. Go the next size up (7/16 oz.) and things become way out of balance; almost feels like trying to cast a blacksmith's anvil.

Lure weight on the rod is a guide. Use whatever lure casts well on that setup. Some lighter lures will not cast well on a stiff rod that has a MH or H designation, therefore you go to a lighter more parabolic action rod.
