Hi all! In my collection with Rapala Countdowns in size 7 I have those five floating ones and would like to hear what you think of them! The exciting thing is that the weight is around 6 grams each instead of 8 gram and they are floating and not sinking! I’m wondering if this is some kind of prototypes or what? I also recognize the Firetiger and Hot Tiger colors from the Team Esko model and as you know that model is floating and is based on the same body as the Countdown 7. Could this be some kind of blend between Team Esko and Countdown? I have also noticed that the angle of the lip on the Perch and Holographic at the bottom is more similar to the original Countdown then the other three that has a different angle. They all have Rapala and Countdown printed on the lip but they do not sink! Does anyone know the story behind this? Have you seen them before or are they unique in some way? Hi, This is how the floating version of the CD7 looks compared to a regular Team Esko. It has the same color, the same weight and the same hooks as it is on the Team Esko lure. As you can see on the first picture I posted above, the Perch has the regular smaller treble hooks which is the standard for the Countdowns. But except for that one they all came with the hooks that are mounted on the Team Esko factory versions. Does anyone know if those floating ones are factory mistakes or prototypes or even a special version that has been sold commercial? /Andreas

Only thing I know about these is I have seen more of them for sale in Finland. Maybe anyone from Finland here knows more?

Hi Trevor,
Thanks for the input! And yes, I have seen more of them in Finland and I have bought all of mine from there. And there was actually a Hot Tiger sold i Finland just a few days ago for around 36 Euro.
So, if anyone from Finland that may know something about this could help us out it would be much appreciated!

Hi, So this is my latest addition to my collection of floating CD7. This one is also a Team Esko color which color code I think is BR and stands for Blue Red maybe? This one is also bought from Finland. Have a great weekend! /Andreas
