does anyone know what year Rapala introduced the Rainbow Trout pattern on the Original Floating minnow? I have an F7 which I know I bought sometime in the early or mid 80's. It has the copper split rings and the words "Original Rapala Floating Finland" molded into the bill. Over the years I've caught many nice bass and walleyes on it, and I want to retire it before I lose it! It seems in my memory this was maybe the first pattern I had other than the standard Silver, Gold, and Perch.

I have documentation the F-7 RT were definitely made in 1987, but that's as far back as I've got.

To my knowledge 1980 was the first year of the Rainbow trout pattern. And it came on the Original Floater.

thanks Jason- I seem to remember I had this particular lure in 1985... Luckily last week I found a couple new F7 RTs on the shelf in a store and I bought them. The old one is retired.
