Hey guys! I recently looked up ebay to get myself some ristos when I bumped into a load of RR4. It's like 10 bucks but it seems very suspicious to me. Can you tell me what's going on with them? Heres a pic of a RR4 in SD color. Thank you!

These are a new release. That's why the price is so cheap.

I see. Then I guess it's not same quality as well.

hi all.
well, maybe the new edition rapala may not be of the same quality as the older ones, and my personal experience with some CDJ-11 might prove that, but since the question was: fake or genuine, I would say, both are genuine rapala lures, just from different dates and factories.
we have seen re-editions of several models, many of which had been mourned about when they were initially discontinued. we even have examples of re-re-editions.
as mentioned, I only have (not so good) experience with the CDJ, others out there may have with other models. please let´s hear about them - good or bad. e.g. what about the RR, TE-7, H13, FR/SFR-5/7, others ... ?
what I do not understand is that e.g. the varnishing process should have improved substantially over the last 30 years or so with much better quality available now as back in say 1936. and still we find color coming off after just one or two days of fishing and one contact with fish (on a MXR15). why maybe rapala wants us all to go from balsa to plastic, becasue these are easier to mass-produce than the good-old-balsa-wood rapala?
best, Wolfgang
