What year is it? Finland SR8 SFC

Just picked up a Finland SR8 in SFC and I'm just curious about the year they produced it. I looked up the small "booklet" which comes with the package, but I didn't find anything about the production year. Maybe the footnote on the first page? It says: sk-87. Maybe 1987? My TD5's note states 2002 but that booklet is coloured and much recent

Hi Dan.

well, I guess you are right with the year 1987; but all it tells is that the paper was printed in 1987, not the lure was necessarily made 1987. this depends very much on how many of these papers were printed and when they had been used up (with the lures and boxes these were put together). what it does give is a hint as to about when your rapala was made, 1987 or maybe 1988. I would assume that rapala did not print papers for several years in advance, but to be sure about that, you need somebody more familiar with the factory policy.

I was wrong! I just find a post about shad raps. The SR7 hit the market in 1982. The SR5 in 1983 the SR9 two years later and the SR8 "only" in 1990 with the CLN color So yeah the paper is older than the actual lure so they printed a lot before they put it in the package. I guess thats why the paper I have does not have SR8 on it. There's the little post below!
