Well its safe to say I've been out of the loop for a loong time here.
Just wanted to drop a note that with all of the newer Rapala lure releases, frankly it's been a bit hard to keep up with everything, and for that I apologise to you all, life keeps getting in the way!
Every time I turn around Rapala is releasing new lures and discontinuing others (so much for the Clackin' series I guess).
Anyway if you're frustrated with the content or participation on the site it's totally understandable & warranted. With social media these days we're not exactly the go-to site for breaking news anymore.
I would definitely like to keep this site going but maybe it needs to be slimmed down a bit for easier use. If anyone has any suggestions, I'd be sure to welcome them.
Thanks!

Hi Ted.
well, maybe I am a little old fashioned (or a lot ...). I have no idea what would bring more traffic here. for me no facebook, twitter, and whatever all these new social media are called.
I am happy with what we have here; maybe not go-to for breaking news. but still, I think rapalanation is THE source for information on rapala in general, and even more so, specifically. all the knowledgde is here, even if (some) people substantiating this knowledge seem to have left, or are not present as much as they used to. and I guess most of you know by now that I am not a real fan of all the new stuff, and do not really need (/want?) to get updated on these on a monthly, weekly, daily, hourly basis ... the more they seem to bring out, the more I go to the older stuff it seems.
as for "discontinued" rapala, I have seen re-editions and re-re-editions of quite a few in the last ten years or so, usually causing a substantial price drop of the original editions, at least for a while; but I think I can say that most of the old stuff is holding, or coming back to value, sooner or later. in my opinion, the good-old-balsa-wood rapala is still very much alive after more than 80 years, even with all the new plastic lures out there today. well, I do not want to say that you can not catch fish with them plastics (I have in my collection (and tackle box) quite a few DRFR-5/7 for example) it just is somehow more gratifying for me to catch them with the classic traditional rapala (the "H-13 classic collection" was not called this for no reason) ...
good to see you back here, even if you check in just once i a while.
best, Wolfgang

Maybe Facebook itself could bring more traffic here. Start a RapalaNation Facebook page. Let people chat on there. But let them know most all the important information is over here. Or better yet. Don't let them post there at all. Just leave a link to here.

Its just finding the time to add content, really. Its been on auto-pilot for awhile. I might need to stop obsessing over 'categorizing' some of the new models, being anal-retentive about things has its detriments lol
