I am hoping to add a section here with all of the known colors of Rapalas I can find...I think it would be easier to put them here than on my website, plus it would use a lot less bandwidth.
You know those color charts of the lure types (i.e. Originals, Countdowns, etc) that you see on all the sites that sell Rapalas? That's what Im hoping to add, for every Rapala I can find.
What do you all think?

I think thats a great idea. I have played with that same sorta idea for some time. I wish that we could generate a "Master List" of all rapala colors, styles and sizes so one could quickly glance to see if they ever made a Husky in SFC for instance. We could all contribute with odds and ends to round out the oddballs like the DHJ-12 CW, this way we all know whats out there. Just my 0.02.

Yea, and I think it would be easier to do it here instead of on my site, since this is easier to update. Now I just have to find the time to do it...

Well I think Im going to try to tackle this...I must be nuts...just from the color patterns off the top of my head, the US Rapala site, and the Japan Rapala site, I came up with a list of over 200 color codes...yikes...
Im sure I'll be drawing off of everyone else's expertise on this. I started the list in Excel, then hoping to add color 'chips' alongside each pattern...and then converting that to html...somehow...

Ted,
As I've stated before, I'm definately game for trying this. I know this will be a long and arduous process, but lets get it done. Any and all pictures from my collection that are needed are available for use. This type of data might get the interest of other collectors and maybe even Rapala themselves as they realize how big this type of collecting has become.

Wow...this is going to be WAY harder than I had thought....why? Because lately it seems like Im stumbling across new ones every day! For example, has anyone heard of or seen of BFH - aka Blue Fathead Minnow? Check this number out...

LOL...what I should probably do is post the list of the codes I have so far - some I have the color codes but not the description, so if anyone knew what it was they could edit the post... Shane you should see what else I dug up today too...maybe you've seen them, maybe you haven't....but I know I've been out of the loop for a bit...I'll post it in the 'New Lures' section...

The list of colors should also be broken down by lure type as well. I have had to make an inventory of my collection for the insurance company, so I might be able to lend a hand. I don't collect all Rapalas, but I can help with the ones I do collect.

So far (and without even trying too hard) my list has over 200 color codes on it...and I see it going over 300, easy. I am trying to figure out the easiest way for me to add 'color chips' next to each code, without pulling my hair out over excessive html work and image cropping.
I'll keep you guys updated...

Speaking of Fat Heads, has there been any fathead shad raps? That is an awesome color. I have a spare fathead deep husky if someone wants a trade.

Jeff, No Ive never seen any fathead shad raps - that'd be one cool looking lure right there. Jeff very cool page by the way - yeah I was going to do something like that, although only showing one lure per color code - for example we all know what 'G' looks like, lol. Nice page

But it would be super cool to know the color codes for each type of lure. Probably too labor intensive, but way cool. Atleast that is what I am trying to do with the ones I collect. Perhaps I am just anal like that

Jeff,
Yeah Im kinda anal too like that, lol...
I know Steve has done a TON of research into that, and I know he has a list of lures and color codes available to them on his site. Im not sure how current it is - and I can understand not being able to keep up, thats for sure! Especially with all the new lure lineups each year!
