Hello Everyone & Welcome!!! I created this message board some time ago for all Rapala fans to converge and share their love of their favorite lure. Please register and make yourself at home...ask questions, make posts, trade lures, whatever! There really arent any rules here just treat everyone with the respect they deserve. Anyway... its been a long time since I've done anything with this board...mainly since Ive stifled my collecting for awhile...but every now and then I still do get emails from people asking about Rapalas so I really need to keep this board going. It just seems so hard lately to keep up with all the new stuff Rapala keeps putting out , so I'll do my best to get this place back up to speed. If anyone needs anything just let me know! ;D

Jason,
The moderator is extremely busy right now and I suspect will get to you with time unless the request is going to the wrong link. He does check the board sometimes so I'm not sure whats going on.

hi oz
you need to first post your pictures on a picture hosting site. some here use geocities, i know i use picturetrail.com, but there are lots of them.
i know picturetrail offers a link that is specific to forums that all you have to do is copy and paste the link on your message here in the forum and when you hit the submit button, the picture will be there.
hope you can make it work and welcome to the board
Jeff

OK guys, I'll send some greetings from the middle of Germany. 1st i have so say it's a very cool site (maybe the only one about Rapala exists) so first I was reading the most postings over the last weeks. Just like Bodeen primary I'm (trying) to collect SSR14's and some other special Rapalas (J, CDJ, MFR, MAG, TD) which still out of production. I like their shape and of cause all "real" baits made of balsa. Over the years I've got some nice collectible, discontinued and rare stuff from some local fishing shops i want to share with you. For the next days I will post some pics from some of my woodies. All I want is just talk about and getting some hints about year of production and cholor scheme they made over the years. I started to collect in the early 90's with a simple CD5-S caused in the availability in eastern germany. Joerg Sorry about my bad english vocabulary. College was long ago, and I've forgotten a lot of it.

Welcome aboard 10tacle. Your english is fine and your love of Rapala's is better. We're all waiting to see your fine collection. Feel free to post and ask questions as we have many Rapala collectors with much knowledge. We even have some great Germans on here. I agree with your balsa point. I can't stand that so many of the lures are going plastic on us.
As a side note, the new minnow rap by rapala has been awesome for us this summer. If you haven't tried one, they really work.

As a side note, the new minnow rap by rapala has been awesome for us this summer. If you haven't tried one, they really work. Wallcat I heard these rumors about, but never seen here in the shops to test and grab it. My local dealer said on request the'll expand their Rapala offers in autumn, but as I seen on the distributors page of Shimano most of these were the newer ones made of plastics. Bad for my collection...

I think the minnow raps are made of balsa here? I'll have to verify.

Your right. I obtained it to the newer production line in general, not the MR's.

Welcome aboard. I too look forward to seeing your collection. I am sure that if you want some Rapalas to fish with that you can't get over there, people from this side of the Atlantic would gladly pick them up for you.
A lure that I am liking a lot right now is the XRap Shad. I also like the SSR and particularly in the HS color for smallmouth bass.

Hey there! My name is John, I'm from Lisbon, Portugal and I've just started fishing. Since my first bass was caught with an Original Floater in RT, I too was "hooked" on Rapalas. Since then I've bought a few more and some gear too, including the Limited Edition backpack and tackle bag. Here are a few photos of my equipment and lures. As you can see, my very small collection is on the left side of the box. Great forum, thanks! John

Hello John, and welcome to the forum! Your gear is very nice, and i'm sure that you'll be filling that tackle box full of Rapalas in no time. I think that you will fit right in to the board, and pretty soon you should know everyone by name. If you have any questions, any at all, i'm sure that anyone here would be very happy to help.

Hello i am Alexander, I live here in the Netherlands, and it seems there are some dutchies on this forum too. I'm not really into trading lures transcontinentual, and i am here more for information and tips.
I like this forum already and i have learned allot by reading old posts.
