Allow me to re-introduce myself.... For many of you, I'd been the absentee owner of this place the last year or so...and you're prolly all wondering who the hell is this guy, and where did he go? Anyway, I just realized after poking around here on the boards a bit, that I realized my registration date on this place was 02/04/2004... Which means the 5 Year Anniv of this place came and went without even me realizing it! For those who don't know, I got really rabid into fishing these fine lures, which then turned into somewhat of an obsession. That's when I started this place. At first there was only a handful of us, now Im glad to see there are plenty more regulars here, which is awesome, and I thank you all for it. Especially Jason, Bodeen, nathenpd, wallcat, Steve especially (he was my inspiration) and a few other names that escape me right now. You folk all stuck around when this place was mere tumbleweeds, lol. Im hoping to hang around here more, and maybe introduce some board changes that might make it more useable, but nothing concrete yet. Any ideas, throw me a line @ fishooked@gmail.com, or PM me here. I cant promise much, my spring is usually brutal with my kids birthdays and what not, not to mention ice-out, and general spring cleanup around the homestead, but I'll do what I can. Thanks to all for being here. ;D Ted

I think I speak for all of us when I say thank you for all of this and giving us all a place to chat about our "obsession"
Thanks.

I just wish I was around more to help out, but dammit I'll try. I just wish we could get all those 'lurkers' on here to post...we have reams of people who've signed up and haven't posted...I'll have to work on that...

I sort of remember a guy named Ted hanging around here a little bit a few years back. If memory serves we right he was a jets fan I think. ;D

Well, I'll be damned. 5 years.
Holy cow, Fishooked. It started as just a little way for me to spread some info. Nobody, I mean NOBODY was collecting Rapala's back in those 'real early days' It was a lot of fun times and continue to be so.
It great to do a 'drive-by' this place and see that the interest in Rapala's is still alive and growing.
I've had some rough days in the past year. I'll try to get back here a little more often. I've gotten hooked into another hobby, Die-cast NASCAR cars 1:24 scale. I don't have many, like 20 some. But these things are wicked.
Later fellas and gals,
Steve "Rapala-Guru"

Without Steve's original message board this place would have never come to fruition, and for that Steve thanks for the inspiration. And I hear you about the die-cast stuff, I have some New York Jets diecasts that are just flat out awesome.

hi..im very active in a few fishing related forums in my country..hundreds of people posting everyday, every hour, every minutes...what we need here is alot of pictures of FISH...we know rapala was made to fish..a rapala that can't catch fish is better use as keychain.. please post more photo of fish caught on RAPALA...to be honest, we (malaysians) always short of rapala stock..i mean those model and color that's suitable to our water...here in my country any RAPALA's lure that has potential to trigger a strike is kept like jewel...most of us buy lure that catch fish..not as collection...i've seen alot of photos of rapala collection in this board that almost made me cry..how i wish i could fish with those really really good lure... hahahahaha...anyway u guys have a gigantic collection...many of them i've never seen in my whole life..i really enjoy seeing your collection..congratulation guys!!

Ted,
Thanks for popping back in. We missed you and welcome you back. I too have been away for a while, mostly fishing and the sort, but I'm back a little more often now. Nice to see the international flavor lately.

This place I guess kind of started off as a collectors site, and still is for the most part. Of course at the very heart of fishing lures is fishing itself, obviously. I'd love more posts to go into the fishing & boating section, as well as photos of catches! What got me started was trying to find something 'different' to use. Then I stumbled across UK and Rapala Japan, and those lures dropped by jaw to the ground. And eventually it turned into this site. Is it hard to get Rapalas over there, even by purchasing online? I'm sure our members here could definitely help you out.

we have almost every model rapala made but not all colors available..we have to purchase online because that's the only way but the shipping cost from US is expensive...not all tackle shops has rapala in every model...color choices also limited...if u're looking for japanese lure, we have abundant...alot of people here choose to buy japanese brand like DUEL, Yo Zuri, megabass, Lucky Craft and so on but rapala still no 1 because of the price is way cheaper than japanese lure..

Does this mean you folks get the Rapala-Japanese colors & models, as detailed on their site? www.rapala.co.jp ? Now, if you can get a lot of THOSE models & colors, then you will be very popular here!

For those that don't know, wallcat & myself go 'way back', as far as 'internet friends' are concerned....although we have never met, and I don't even know what the hell he looks like... Which gives me a new idea for a thread...
