Can anyone tell me how to use the search function? I am attempting to search for specific colors, yet when I put the color code in the search engine it asks for a search with 4 or more characters... I just don't understand it. Thanks!

you can add a * as a placeholder.
however there seems to be a problem with the search engine, which is unable to produce useful result, even if all parameter are correct.

i am known to be a little slow ... why would you want to search the board for a color code?
and i am known to be quite bad with computer (Ted, thats why i havent put a link to rapalanation on my homepage yet)
and why i still didnt manage to post any pics here ...
but say you search for "s" or "g" you would most probably hit all words having an S or G in them, isnt it?
if you put an S in google you get about 7 billion hits, with G you get a little over 2 billion. i guess it is easier and takes less time to search all posts on the board by hand ...
just a thought ...
and i realize just now that i never searched for a color code here - dont know why ...
good luck, wolfgang

Wolfgang I beleive he means the search function on the site...
Yes, I agree, it does kind of suck, you pretty much have to put in at least 4 characters, which doesn't make sense, so doing a search for a color code here won't really work.
I did, however, put in a search on the word 'gold' and it seemed to work pretty well...let me know if you need additional help - thanks!

Again, it's the default ProBoards search feature, not my own, so Im sure there are inaccuracies.
There are a lot of fixes coming with v5 from what Im told, currently we're on v4.5, so we'll see....

I don't know folks, but search results seem to be coming out fine for me, based on what I searched on. I was even able to pull in posts from the very first week the forum was created, so it is working, if maybe a little sketchy.
Its not Google, but as far as I know it does the job. I never heard anyone say anything before, because I thought no one ever used it.
Anyway, if I can be of help, please let me know!
