[quote author=jackneves board=generalconvo thread=4931 I would put some Rapalas up... But I think hooks on the desk are against company policy [/quote] In that case take the hooks off and replace them with a paper clip then hook them up

The hooks are against company policy?!?! Do they figure that you'll start throwing them around wildly, or stick one in a co-worker's tuna salad as a joke? Really...all that has gone too far. Oh don;t worry, I used to work in an office, I get it. But seriously... Here's a pic of my 'office'... As you can see we live in different worlds..hee!hee! Even though this is a saw shop, there's often fishing rods/fly tying stuff/ tackle boxes lying around. Makes for good conversation while measuring up saw chain, etc...Yesiree, it's pretty darned close to paradise...chainsaws and sawmills by day, fly fishing command center by night.

Thanks John! I assure you, none of it was intentional. The Sponge Bob holder used to be my favourite coffee mug..then the handle broke off, so I started stuffing pencils into it...and now it's part of the scenery. Wouldn't be the same without it. I find having a little spot like that is awesome for the mojo...except in the wintertime. This spot is on the front porch...NOT heated. Believe me buddy, come November, my fly stuff moves inside, usually into the basement. The saws and stuff aren't bothered by the cold, but it gets awfully hard to hold on to a bobbin of thread at 30 below. Regardless, for much of the year, it's a neat spot to kill time after the daily grind...a little jazz on the satellite radio, a nice tall jug of iced tea, and we're good to go..

Hey Zero, I don't mind cold weather but when the snot in my nose freezes thats when I have to draw the line I always thought that you Canadians were nuts you just confirmed it. When I was hunting in Saskatchewan that was the coldest weather I have ever been in and they were like this is warm wait until January. You guys are a special breed

'Special'...how kind you are!!! Definitely nuts. I think it becomes a genetic defect after so many generations. So bad, that one year when I went to Vegas in November and felt the warm, I couldn't wait to get back home into an insulated pair of saw boots and a wool work shirt. There's much to be said for the frigid mountain air when working outside. My very favorite seasons are early winter and late winter...there's no fall or spring here, really. In the 'fall' when the leaves come off is when I go get logs to stock up on my milling wood (doesn't everybody own a sawmill?). Just after the leaves have come off you head into the bush and you can work hard all day wearing full protective gear and not even break a sweat. Awesome... Fishing in the snow is kind of cool. The water gets really dark and sluggish, and light gloves are a must. The fish action, however, is absolutely insane! All the big trout are just under the surface as the layers of the lake switch over, and they're HUNGRY. You can see them coming in for your lure, and it's not very often they don't hit it. With the water temp just above freezing, the meat is firm, and the fish are really, really tasty... See, it's not all bad! ;D
