That reminds me I still need to find a 7 1/2 or 8' rod, I want to try using one for soft plastics...can never find them off the rack locally though.... ...and I don't need a giant cardboard tube showing up at my doorstep, because my wife will KNOW exactly what is inside!

Funny you should mention the tube thing. I started making travel cases for my rods out of 2" PVC pipe and then just gluing the appropriate threaded caps on them. Works awesome and they're bulletproof...unfortunately, while we were renovating there was ABS pipe everywhere...it was easy to hide a couple of extra four foot pieces in the pile. Now that the mess is cleaned up? Not so much....so it looks like I'm selling off a couple of 'surplus' fishing rods...heh, heh

10tacle, it is one of the best rods I fished here for shads. I fish with jigs 4,7,10 and 14gr with kopytos 3L 4L and 5cm. All is perfect to throw and teh feeling is great. Thomas

Well, that sound very well to me. I'm a generaly pike fishermen and Sportex fan. They'r not as fast as your rod, but you can do anything from perch to catfish with a kevlar composite blank.
Nice custom rod... get up and show us the zanders monsters!

No problem with Zandermonster, but they don´t bite here.
I hope they will bite better in september.
