I know we have some European members on the board, and was wondering if the pike are bigger over there. In the pictures i see, some of those things are huge! And are there really some in the Ostsee? (Baltic Sea) One reason i'm interested is because i'm studying a bit of German. Die Blutrache Der Hechte! lol i dont know if thats right....

I know the Dutch record is 1,37,5 meter. Must have been a little over 40 pounds. Here are 2 pictures of a big Dutch pike. Andre

So I guess pike can tolerate some saltwater? Dutchie, thats a Zander, not a walleye, we dont have Zander over here They get much bigger then walleye. Rügen is that island on the northeastern part of Deutschland right?

Zander and Walleye are exactly the same. Only in Germany they call them Zander, we call them snoekbaars and in The States they call them Walleye.

Hello nathenpd,
yes Rügen is the Isle in the northeast.
There you can catch big pike and walleye and also big perch.
The pike will be caught about 3 km(I don´t know how much yards it is) in the Balticsea while trolling.
There are pikes over 1,30m caught each year.
Greetings Thomas
