Just to show what's in the water on the opposite side of the planet.
The Murray Cod is Australia's largest freshwater species with a reported specimen growing to almost 2 metres {over 6ft} and weighing 113kg {app 250lb} although fish this size are rare. They are often caught between 60cm {2ft} & up to around 120cm {4ft}
This is not a big fish in comparison to the size they do reach.
Caught on one of my favourite US lures.
Apologies for the shadows in the pics but I mainly fish by myself and it's hard to hold a bulldozer and take photos at the same time
Here's another larger cod caught on an Ozzie lure. This lure is called an OAR GEE PLOW & has an 80mm {3-1/4"} body. This fish is around mid size at 96cm or 3" 3"
These fish slam lures with the power of a freight train and can destroy sub standard hardware & tackle.
