I hit a local park Sunday from 3:30pm til 8:15pm. I moved around along 3 of the ponds there. A few Rapalas I tried throwing included SSR7 SH, JSR5 P, DTFT-3 S, GFR5 GB, and J9 S. I also tried playing with a plastic frog on top of some thick pollen laying on the surface. Over by that pollen I lost a bass on the SSR7 SH and had 2 nice ones looking at the SSR7 SH. I finally decided to stick with the SSR7 SH. In one area I had a nice hit. The hit was so hard it felt like when you'd set the hook. Next pond I was fishing at I lost a chain pickerel and small black crappie. One thing I tried to do at that same pond was catch a small bluegill or pumpkinseed to use as bait. Reason for that was because twice I saw what looked like a bass or pickerel chasing a bluegill or pumpkinseed. Saw that sunfish jump out of the water a few times and then a huge swirl and explosion. I had no luck while twitching a F5 S on the surface very lightly with some tiny worms rigged on the rear hook. Last pond I fished at with the SSR7 SH was where I thought I was gonna say "Shallow Shad Rap has done it AGAIN!!!". Had this bass pulling pretty hard on my 6' medium action rod with 10 lb mono. While reeling it in I then see this bucket mouthed bass jump. That's when I lost it. I gave the SSR7 a few casts in other spots but then hit the road.

It's always a kick in the ass to see an awesome fish like that jump, and then lose it.

Atleast there was the rush for a while.
