I just got back from Lake Erie after two awesome days of fishing. We fished a tournament on Saturday and finished 5th of 47 boats. Its just a small tourney put on by the West Michigan Walleye Club. Its not for money so we didn't make the 40+ mile run to get the larger fish.I remembered to take pictures of our fish on Friday but not tourney day We caught a bunch of fish both days with the largest on Saturday going around 7.5lbs. On Saturday, we even caught about a dozen undersize Walleye also. We weighed 24.33lbs for 5 fish. Its an amazing fishery and anyone who loves fishing for Walleye should think about taking a trip there. Here are a couple of pics from Friday.

The tournament was out of Sterling State Park in Michigan. We fished pretty much straight out of the park about half way in between the shipping channel and West Sister Island in Ohio waters. Fished 27-29 fow on Friday and moved to 30-31 fow on Saturday. We trolled around 1.3 mph. All fish were caught on spinners and crawlers. Best colors were a gold clown blade with red and gold beads and a mixed veggies blade (copper back) with copper and salmon colored beads. Some came on bottom bouncers and some on 1oz. inline weights. We bought 224 crawlers and ended up using 222. Every fish was very fat and healthy. The 7.5 lber was only 25.5 inches long and we had some 21-22 inch fish pushing 4lbs. Very heavy fish for their length. The whole trip cost around $120 per person with food, gas, motel, and bait. Steve, I ALWAYS have time for a fish fry!!

Unfortunately, I never got a chance to throw on any lures at all. I brought to big tackle bags with 9 plano boxes in each bag....all full and never got a chance to use any.

Very nice fish you have there. I haven't had the chance to fish Lake Erie yet, but I'm sure to go sometime, especially after seeing these pictures ;D:p
