I hit a few ponds around the area Tuesday evening hoping for some good bass action. From 5:30pm til 8:15pm I played around with a SSR7 SH, F9 GFR, F5 S, and a rubber frog. Saw some "bullgills" in one area but they wouldn't take the F5. Went to a small pond with lots of lillies and weeds and threw the frog on top. Had a few swirls and 3 explosions. Later while I was at another pond I had a small pickerel follow the F9 a few times. At the last pond I hit I saw a nice crappie follow the SSR7 a few times but wouldn't take it. I decided to play with the F5 on the surface which produced me a chubby 11" crappie just over 1 pound.
Just before leaving I threw the frog on lillies and had 1 nice explosion but couldn't set the hook.
