Fathers Day FishFest!

Well it's pretty much been raining here for almost 3 weeks straight but I was determined to go out this morning for Fathers Day as planned.

Pretty much steady rain since I got out, although not too cold, around 62, got on the lake at 5am.





Saw a fox this morning running across the dam, but was too slow with the camera. Got these two using Berkley Realistix Sinking Minnow in Shiner, near the dam:







Then a long stretch of pretty much nothing, finally got one (and only one) on a Rapala F13






Then a whole lot of nothing for ahile. Here's some boredom shots:
By the way, this cupholder is the best 9.99 I ever spent!












So pretty much from 5am until 10am I only got 3 fish. Eventually the rain stopped, I changed by tactics and hit the shallows with some Senkos....and Im glad I did!

My favorite part of the day was landing these two really nice pickerel - also on Senkos - totally made my day today!

Also Parliment smokes (ya know those will kill ya )

Dammit I should have measured them...

No, just Texas rig, minus the sinker...I use Mister Twister Keeper hooks on them....I went through almost an entire bag in an hour!

Normally the green is my favorite.

I drink TWO on my way in to work in the morning..between that and listening to Metallica, I'm ready to plant my Rockport in someone's grill when I get into the office

Nice fish Ted. I'm glad someone made it out today . I use the mister twister keeper hooks as well. I usually just hammer the bass on the 4" berkley realistix lizards.

Nice pics and report. I agree with you about the pickerels. 2 pickerel like that would make my day if I didn't catch any big bass. Nice Rapala collection you have.

Thanks, I may have to check that out. There are tons of great message boards out there with lots of members, which is a great way to get the word out.

Unfortunately that usually means in order to do so I'd have to probably spent quite a bit of time being active and posting on each one...this board is usually the only one I have time for these days.

But thanks for the link, will definitely check them out!
