Jepp I like this fast fishing in all situations, where I cannot us a boat. Last Saturday morning I met my old buddy Heiko for drift fishing in a near midzize river for Pike and Zander. Well, its short to say. Caused in the post cold front with high, fast and murky water we'd some problems to drift carefully in the current to fish the good spots long enough. After some "fun" behind a small dam we got enough speed to make the 10km in less than 5 hours. A small pike for my friend and some chubs for me was all we've got. Maybe we should one of those funny little duck that following us a huge distance next time to plop it through the waves, cause we've seen a lot of huge echos from big catfishes on our depth finders. *little joke*

I don't know if your "brunswick chub" ;D are the same as here in europe - think so, but this was only a common mid size one with app. 2lbs. Rarely you can catch'em up to 20 or close to 27-29 inches with 7 to 9 lbs and depends on the river system you fish. There exists some specialist and techniques in the UK for this species who love'em. Not me! Good baits are small lures on light tackle or luncheon meat and cherrys.
