That's seriously cool...who makes it, and where do we get one? That would be a killer for pike!

Good Luck. I look forward to pictures of the lake tomorrow. ;D bastard zero, they are made by 'Southern Lure' - LandBigFish has them www.landbigfish.com/default.cfm?AID=2532Just do a search in their tackle store for 'Scum Frog', these are the 'BigFoot' models... I am honestly surprised no one came up with legs like this type before...

So, when you were out fishing for those bass and pike, did you try the frog?
I'm definitely going to check one out...what a terrific idea!
Thanks, Bob

Thanks, Bob Yeah I used it last night, but no luck on it though, surprisingly. Maybe it was the rod/line I was using, but I can't seem to cast it as far as other frogs. I do wish it was a little heavier...

Speaking of frogs, have you ever checked out the Buzz'N'Frog by Rebel? It's another sicko top swimming lure. we've had good luck with it and it's heavy enough that it'll cast into the next lake.. Ok, maybe not, but if nothing else, it's funky looking hardware and makes a great addition to any already overstuffed tackle box. Just for curiosity's sake, how heavy is the line on your reel?

I rarely ever use anything over 10lb, which is what i had on this reel...maybe the line could be topped off though

Y'know, that whole line thing is voodoo unto itself. I used to use big stuff (10 and over) when I lived in the East as most of what we were catching was Muskies and things like that. Here? I've gone as low as 4 lb. and as long as the rod is a bit of a 'wet noodle' and flexes lots, I've caught fish way over 4 lbs. In fact that big 9 1/2 lb'er was caught on 4lb test and a medium light rod. Ok, so it took almost a half hour to wear him out and not lose the line, but we got him!
That said, I find for most quasi-light lures, 6lb. on a flimsy rod is a good combo. The rod still loads up nicely on the cast so I get some half decent distance even on something as light as a 3cm. floater Rap. Mind you, when the wind is blowing out here, the only thing you can cast further than ten feet is the anchor... ;D
Alas, I'm rambling...back to the pursuit of the Scum Frog...

Frogs at night time are a ton of fun. I fish a few golf course ponds and night and they love scum frogs, spro poppin frog, etc, etc . I would definitely have some braid leader if your fishing some really scummy nasty stuff
