Wtf, where did you catch that? Caught it in the Menominee River on the Wisconsin side of the river,. Fishing here is like the box of chocolates thing you never know what you'll catch.

Nice fish Steve. I never thought about taking pictures of sheephead. They put up a heck of a fight. I was fishing with some double downers, hot n tot wannabes, and I had a huge one on. All of a sudden my line goes slack and I figure I lost it. I reeled the line in and all that was left was the lip of the lure. The diving lip pulled right out of the lure body.
The largest one we have caught was 30.5 inches.

Ya they aren't the prettiest fish in the world but they pull like mules. This only the third one I ever caught. I thought I had a really big smallie on then I saw what it was.

Weird...a sheepshead isn't a fish we have up here, at all. Is it related to anything (i.e., carp, etc), or is it its own thing? Are they good eating?

I have never ate one but they say that they are good eating.I think that they are their own species.
