Hit Lake Michigan yesterday for a pretty easy limit of perch. There were 7 of us in 4 boats and we all hit our limits. Biggest fish of the 4 boats was 14 1/2 incher. My biggest was 12 1/2 inches.

walleye are just perch with teeth And they are my favorite, but I can only have so many walleye in the freezer.....gotta mix it up with some coho, silvers, gills, cats, and perch....possible a few bass just to piss of bass anglers.

Wow!!
A 12 1/2 inch perch? Awesome!! Here they rarely get to 12 inches. Because of the cold water and sparse food supply it can take 8 years for a perch to get to maturity, and even then, it's barely worth the electricity to fry them. Ok, so we get 10 lb trout instead...it's a harsh trade off, but we'll take it... ;D

I haven't been out perch fishin yet but after seeing those pics I might have to bump it up on the priority list I remember catching a few 14 inchers on Bays de Noc a few years ago so hopefully I can get a few of those when I go out.Although I perfer 8 to 10 inchers I won't be picky.

Awesome job! I really enjoy perchin. 3 Rapalas that have been so good to me whenever the perch are hitting are F, J, an SSR. The #1 colour that works for me on all 3 is P. SH on the F and SSR, SD on the SSR, and GFR on the F and J are pretty good to me too. I've caught a few on the JSR in SSD, SD, and P and always have a grand time jigging in the ice with a W5 in GT.
