I got to get out fishing for 3 hrs this weekend.  I went to a little river back in Iowa. I just used crawlers and slip rigs and had a blast. I had 3 walleyes, 2 channel cats, 6 carp, 4 redhorse suckers, and 2 madtoms. I went through 3 dozen crawlers before the wife called. I haven't fished this spot since I was a kid and it still holds some nice fish. |

Hey Jeremy sounds like you had a blast ;D Its fun just to catch fish no matter what they are  You gave me an idea  There are a few spots I haven't fished since I was a kid (and thats been a loong time) I may have to load up the truck and take my kids to those spots. |

I have been going back to some of these old stomping grounds since I got injured and can't use my boat alone. My knowledge now on these spots make them just great little honey holes. This spot I had to walk back in 3/4 of a mile through the state timber to get to. I don't think many people even know it's there. It was a spot that we would hunt geese and fish at the same time in the fall. Boy I must have been crazy to carry all of that stuff back in there. I just made a list tonight of all of these spot and am going to try and get back to them. |

Those tucked away spots are awesome. I did the same thing before summer started I made a list of spots I wanted to fish and so far I only got to 1  It seems like every time I get a chance to go it rains or some stupid social function magically pops up  |
