Went out this morning again, with the threat of rain & t-storms, and again they were way off. But I had to work for these fish today. Just a wee big foggy this morning.... When nothing else is working, I can usually count on my Senko's to get the job done - its finding the right color that is a pain in the ass. Red Shad Laminate? Nope Key Lime Pie? Nope Black? Nope Pumpkin? Nope Watermelon? Nope Finally after about 3 hours of nothing, and nothing on Rapalas either, I figured out it was June Bug with green flake they wanted Check out the 'walleyed bass!' Senkos are making me forget all about my love for PowerWorms - which is almost unfathomable to me - but almost every bass I caught on plastics this year was on Senkos. 5 fish total today, not bad - by having the right rain gear I don't have to worry if its going to be 'nice' outside anymore...

What kind of hook is that? Is it a weedless wire on it or a piece to keep the worm in place??

What kind of hook is that? Is it a weedless wire on it or a piece to keep the worm in place?? It's my old reliable Mr. Twister Keeper Hook - its still my favorite, even after trying the newer twist on type. Sometimes on the newer ones, the line somehow ends up in FRONT of the keeper, which screws it up royally, but Ive never had that happen with the Mr. Twister. And they hold the bait better than you'd think, even on the super soft stuff like Senkos. Of course, when you're bringing in a bass and think you can salvage it for another cast, one shake of their head and it goes flying off, lost in the depths forever, and soon to be eaten by a snapping turtle eventually.

Those Senko's have to be one of the Bass baits ever made When the fish are picky this is a definate goto bait. How do those Frogg Toggs work?? I thought about getting a set.

For raingear on a budget, you can't beat them. They are superlightweight, and they say they are breathable - although maybe not as much as they claim. Although I have a tendency to overdress sometimes, because I've gotten burned too often for not taking account temperature and wind off the water, so I was sweating my ass of that day. But they're reliable enough to the point that I can go out in the rain with confidence, something I haven't done much of before. They dont take up a lot of space either, and they usually run big, so you can always layer up and wear them over it when the weather gets colder. Its a small price to pay instead of fishing those 'bluebird skies' days - now my wife doesnt mind it as much, becuase Im saving the nicer weather days to do stuff with her and the kids - whereas when its raining, Id spent my time cleaning up after them and yelling at them all day

Nice fish. The dry ducks work better IMO. I have a set of each and one always stays in the boat.

Yes, I heard there was a saying among the bass in that lake, "" keep an eye out for Ted""
