A buddy and I hit a lake Saturday morning. We started the morning with the topwater bite. My buddy stuck with a frog. I tried throwing Tiny Torpedo. My buddy got a nice hit but couldn't det the hook. Everthing else was sunnies. Later we worked the weeds, structure, and shade but hardly had any luck. Most fish were suspended in 4 to 12 FOW. My buddy tried throwing a spinner bait, Pins Minnow, DS worm, F7, and a Bomber crankbait. He lost a smallie on the Bomber, had a few hits on the spinner, and was getting sunnies on the DS. For the deeper fish I tried tossing a JSR5 P, JSR5 CW, GFR5 GPS, and a custom painted DT6 all with no luck. In the shallower and shady areas I tried throwing a SSR7 SH and F9 G. Lost 1, had a few hits, and caught a 9" smallmouth with the SSR7. I did try jigging with a W5 GT but had no luck.

Hey Bluefishbuster, I would definitely have to say that the SSR is your Majik lure

I never forget to bring all SSR's no matter where I go. Whether it's a SSR5 or 7 for freshwater or a SSR9 for some light action saltwater I always bring them and never forget to throw them. Am always bound to catch a nice fish esp in freshwater with the SSR. I am so upset that Rapala discontinued Shiner on the Shallow Shad Rap. That colour has always been so good to me in fresh and salt.
